Reminder: Twelfth Night Holiday Tree Bonfire
Posted on 12/29/2025
The Pleasant Prairie Twelfth Night Holiday Tree Bonfire takes place Tuesday, January 6, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This free community event is organized by the Village of Pleasant Prairie, in partnership with Visit Pleasant Prairie and the Pleasant Prairie Historical Society. Activities include hot chocolate, s’mores, cookies, fire pits, holiday caroling, and tours of safety vehicles. The Twelfth Night Bonfire lighting is scheduled for approximately 6:00 p.m.

“This event provides an opportunity for community members and visitors to gather and mark the close of the holiday season,” explained Village Administrator Eric Rindfleisch. “Lakefront conditions can be cold depending on seasonal weather, particularly before the bonfire is lit. Attendees are encouraged to dress for winter conditions.”

The event is held near Lake Andrea Wruck Beach Pavilion at 9999 Steinbrink Sr. Terrace (formerly Park Drive), located on the west end of Lake Andrea in Prairie Springs Park. The bonfire is locally managed and supervised for safety as part of an established community tradition.

The Twelfth Night Bonfire offers a structured way to reuse live holiday trees to mark the end of the holiday season. Live holiday trees may be dropped off in the fenced area near Lake Andrea Beach on the west end of the park before January 6 for inclusion in the event. The number of tree donations affects the size and duration of the bonfire.
