Public Involvement Meeting - 85th Street

Public Involvement Meeting - 85th Street
Posted on 06/05/2025
The Village of Pleasant Prairie will be conducting an open-house Public Involvement Meeting to discuss proposed pavement marking improvements along 85th Street, from Green Bay Road to Cooper Road. The meeting will take place on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Village Hall Auditorium, located at 9915 39th Avenue, Pleasant Prairie, WI. Please enter through the lower-level entrance on the south side of the building (off 100th Street).

The meeting is an open-house format, without a formal presentation. During the meeting time, attendees will have the opportunity to view project displays and speak directly with project staff regarding the proposed improvements.
The project aims to improve safety and address traffic concerns along 85th Street, particularly issues caused by vehicles passing on the right within the bike lanes. Two pavement marking options will be shown for public review and input:

Option 1: Installation of dedicated left-turn lanes at 56th, 57th, 60th, 63rd, and 65th Avenues.

Option 2: Implementation of a continuous Two-Way Left-Turn Lane (TWLTL) along the entire corridor, with dedicated left-turn lanes at 57th, 60th, 63rd, and 65th Avenues.

Following the Public Involvement Meeting, the Village Engineering Department will present the options and a summary of public feedback to the Village Board during a future meeting. The Village Board will consider this input before deciding on a preferred option. If approved, construction is tentatively scheduled for summer or fall of 2025.

If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like more information on the project, please call 262.925.6729.
