
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), in partnership with the Kenosha County Division of Highways, is proposing to replace the bridge on County Highway C (Wilmot Road) over the Des Plaines River. The project site is located approximately 0.6 miles east of Interstate 94 in the Village of Pleasant Prairie.
Public Information Meeting
The Kenosha County Division of Highways is hosting a Public Information Meeting to gather input from residents on the proposed improvements and traffic control during construction.

Project plans are currently being developed to address structural issues identified during recent bridge inspections, including concrete spalling and cracking. Final plans are scheduled for submittal in 2027. Construction is anticipated to begin in late fall 2027 or spring 2028 and extend through 2028.
Project considerations include:
- Right-of-way impacts to the Des Plaines River open space.
- Temporary closures of the multi-use trail along County Highway C.
- Potential traffic control measures during construction.
