Law Enforcement Torch Run

Every Year the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics raises funds for and awareness of the Special Olympics Movement. The Law Enforcement Torch Run, which was created in 1981 by Wichita, Kansas police chief Richard LaMunyon, today has grown into an international movement with close to 97,000 police professionals in 45 countries participating. To date, the LETR has raised over $600,000,000 for the Special Olympics. The LETR movement encompasses year round events such as Polar Plunges, Roof sits, Tip-a-Cop events and more
