Road construction is underway on WIS 31 (Green Bay Road) between the Illinois State Line and WIS 50 (75th Street). The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is improving approximately 4.8 miles of roadway in Kenosha County.

Project Work Includes:
  • Concrete base patching and joint repairs
  • Asphalt shoulder milling and paving
  • Diamond grinding of the roadway surface
  • Spot pavement repairs
  • Updated pavement markings and signage
  • Traffic signal loop upgrades
Traffic Impacts:
  • Long-term lane closures are in place through late fall 2026
  • Single lane closures during peak travel hours
  • Double lane closures possible during off-peak hours
  • Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained
Drivers should expect delays and plan for additional travel time when traveling through the area.

Construction began in mid-March and is anticipated to continue through late fall 2026. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
