Pleasant Prairie invites residents and visitors to the annual Twelfth Night Holiday Tree Bonfire on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Donald Wruck Beach Pavilion, 9999 Steinbrink Sr. Terrace (formerly Park Drive), in Prairie Springs Park on the west side of Lake Andrea. This family-friendly event is free to attend and is hosted by the Village of Pleasant Prairie, Visit Pleasant Prairie, and the Pleasant Prairie Historical Society.
The Twelfth Night Holiday Tree Bonfire, a Pleasant Prairie tradition since 1980, marks the end of the holiday season with a large holiday tree bonfire. Event highlights include hot chocolate, s’mores, fire pits, cookies, holiday caroling, and tours of safety vehicles. Public safety personnel from Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue and Police will be on site to ensure a safe and enjoyable evening.
“Community members and guests are encouraged to attend the 2026 Twelfth Night Bonfire,” said Village Administrator Eric Rindfleisch. “This tradition offers a fun way to celebrate the end of the holiday season while enjoying a warm, festive bonfire.”
Guests may use the parking lots on either side of the Wruck Pavilion. The bonfire will officially begin at 6:15 p.m., with a welcome from Visit Pleasant Prairie Executive Director Sarah Howard. Donations to support the Pleasant Prairie Historical Society’s restoration of the 1935 Peter Pirsch Model 21 Fire Engine, the first fire engine purchased by the Pleasant Prairie Fire Department, are appreciated.
Residents may contribute dried holiday trees for the bonfire beginning Friday, December 26. Trees should be dropped off inside the fenced area near Lake Andrea Beach, on the west side of Prairie Springs Park. Only bare trees will be accepted, and all donations must arrive before January 6 to be included in the bonfire. Public safety for the bonfire will be maintained under the guidance of the Fire Chief and other public safety personnel.
