The Village of Pleasant Prairie is again offering the RecPlex Living Well Scholarship, a program for individuals undergoing or having undergone cancer treatment within the past year. The goal of the program is to promote physical and mental well-being through regular exercise.
“The Living Well scholarship program is being reintroduced for National Cancer Survivor Month," stated Sandy Wiedmeyer, RecPlex Operations Superintendent. "This initiative positively impacted many cancer survivors last October, and we are pleased to bring it back to continue raising awareness and providing support.”
Exercise has been scientifically proven to enhance energy levels, boost strength, and improve cardiovascular endurance, all contributing to overall good health. Research has also indicated that regular exercise can reduce the risk of some types of cancer recurrence. Regardless of prior activity levels, this scholarship offers an opportunity to embark on a path to better health through structured fitness activities.
