PLEASANT PRAIRIE RECPLEX AND PRAIRIE SPRINGS PARK TO HOST PLEASANT PRAIRIE AND IRON GIRL TRIATHLONS IN 2017
The Village of Pleasant Prairie is pleased to announce that race dates have been set for two major triathlon events during 2017. Prairie Springs Park and Lake Andrea will be the host site for the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon on Sunday, June 25 and the Iron Girl Pleasant Prairie Triathlon on Sunday, August 13.
The Pleasant Prairie Triathlon offers Sprint and International Divisions, a Sprint Division Duathlon, and Sprint and International Division Relays for teams of two or three. As a venue, Prairie Springs Park and Lake Andrea offer: a swim start from a sand beach on a spring-fed lake; a bike course with concrete and asphalt roads with long straightaways and minimal turns; and a run course throughout Prairie Springs Park.
Registration for the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon is now underway at PleasantPrairieTriathlon.com or in person at RecPlex (9900 Terwall Terrace). "The Pleasant Prairie Triathlon is truly inspirational and transformational," explained Sandy Wiedmeyer, Fitness Director and Race Organizer. "Whether people join us as an athlete, a spectator or an event volunteer, it's an experience that's not to be missed!"
The Iron Girl Triathlon offers a sprint distance triathlon or duathlon and two- and three-person relays. The event is open to women ages 13 and older. To learn more about the Iron Girl Triathlon, visit IronGirl.com.
Pleasant Prairie will host a Junior Triathlon for boys and girls ages seven through fourteen (14) on Saturday, August 12. To learn more about this youth multi-sport event, please click here.
