On January 9, the Plan Commission considered and approved final site and operational plans for Doheny Enterprises, Inc. Doheny has plans to construct a 212,489 square foot building on 16.67 acres at 10441 80th Avenue in LakeView Corporate Park. The building will serve as a new company headquarters and distribution center. Preliminary plans were approved for the project in August of 2016.
Final plans call for 25,757 square feet to be dedicated to office functions and 169,658 square feet to be dedicated to the distribution of consumer swimming pool supplies. Plans also call for a 17,074 square foot mezzanine. The new building will consolidate warehousing space from three buildings currently occupied by Doheny in Kenosha. The company was established in 1967. Doheny operates ten distribution centers nationwide and has had a presence in Kenosha County for 20 years. Doheny sells swimming pool supplies to consumers and commercial markets via catalogs, websites, outbound telemarketing, and a local retail pool store.
Proposed hours of operation for the new distribution center are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. between October and February (off season) and Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. between March and September (on season). Approximately 55 full-time and 140 seasonal employees are expected to work from the new facility. An average of 150 automobiles and 30 trucks are expected to travel to and from the site on a daily basis.
Mass grading and the installation of underground utilities, footings, and foundations began during the fall of 2016. Construction is expected to be completed during 2017.
