On Monday, January 9, 2017, the Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission considered and approved site and operational plans for Gold Standard Baking, Inc. to occupy the entire 204,387 square foot building located at 10490 88th Avenue in Pleasant Prairie. Gold Standard headquarters are located in the Chicago-area and will use the Pleasant Prairie building as an expansion of production. The building will be used to manufacture bakery products.

The facility will receive ingredients, process them via mixing, production, proofing, baking, cooling/freezing and packaging equipment to produce finished, ready-to-go bakery products for shipment to customers and offsite warehousing. One large production line will be installed with the intention to add up to five to six lines in the future.

Expected hours of operation are Monday through Sunday from 24 hours a day. Ninety full-time employees are expected to work from the facility. An average of 25 truck trips are expected to travel to and from the site on a daily basis. Occupancy is anticipated by summer 2017.
