Police Department Hosts Community Grocery Giveaway

The Pleasant Prairie Police Department, Journey Disaster Response Team, Kroger, and Meijer are excited to announce an upcoming Grocery Giveaway event. This initiative aims to provide the community with a diverse selection of healthy grocery items and essential personal care products.

The Community Grocery Giveaway is scheduled to take place on July 15, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., the event will be held in the south Pleasant Prairie Village Hall parking lot at 9915 39th Avenue near the Village Hall Auditorium. All families and individuals in the community are invited to participate in the event.

To ensure a smooth distribution process, event hosts kindly ask that guests have their vehicle's trunk or back seat cleared for efficient placement of the food box. The Community Grocery Giveaway Box offers a wide range of non-perishable items. The boxes will include essential food items such as soups, canned vegetables, ramen, pasta, sauce, canned fruit, baking mixes, boxed dinners, canned meat, peanut butter, snacks, bread, pastries, and more. Furthermore, each box will contain personal care items like soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, and toothpaste.

Reservations are not required; however, food items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. In case of additional availability, guests may return to the back of the line for an extra box while supplies last. 

The Peasant Prairie Police Department thanks event collaborators Journey Disaster Response Team, Kroger, and Meijer for their commitment to helping the local community. Village staff is asking community members to help spread the word about the event and encourages everyone to participate and inform any neighbors who may benefit from the initiative.
