Schools, businesses, and community members frequently request direction and presentations on what they should do if confronted with an active shooter event. The Pleasant Prairie Police Department staff is proud to announce the presentation of the CRASE program to our citizens. The CRASE instruction program is the Citizen Response to Active Shooter Events developed by the Federal authorities. Members of the Pleasant Prairie Police Department have been trained to instruct the public on this important topic.
The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004, provides strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Topics include:
● History and prevalence of active shooter events
● Civilian response options
Presenters will discuss the real life statistics surrounding these events and actions you can take to proactively protect yourself and your family beyond the Run, Hide, Fight tactics that are currently taught in work places across the country.
The program will be held on November 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Prairie Village Hall Auditorium located at 9915 39th Avenue. Attendees should enter the auditorium from the south parking lot. The content of this presentation is serious, we suggest adults and mature young adults only attend. This presentation is limited to 50 seats. To register, please email Floy at
