On June 9, 2018 at 6:49 p.m., Pleasant Prairie Police responded to a call of a man slumped behind the wheel of a vehicle that was parked in the 11200 block of 120th Avenue. Upon the officer’s arrival, the 28 year old unresponsive male had already been pulled from the vehicle by bystanders.
The officer assessed the situation and was advised that drug paraphernalia was located in the man’s vehicle. Knowing that the man’s condition would likely have been associated with a drug overdose, the officer gave two doses of the NARCAN and continued CPR until Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue arrived. Shortly after receiving the doses of NARCAN the man regained consciousness.
The man was transported to a local hospital and released into the custody of police on drug related charges. The NARCAN program utilized by Pleasant Prairie Police is a collaborative effort between law enforcement and the Kenosha County Division of Health.
