Emergency Alerts

Pleasant Prairie

The best way to be prepared is to sign up before an emergency occurs. Should an emergency occur in the Village, such as a snow emergency or large scale accident, the Village will post information to PleasantPrairieWi.gov, Twitter and Facebook. We also share information and updates with local media outlets.

During emergencies, the Village has the ability to contact residents directly through a service called Nixle by sending a text message or email to your smart phone.

The Village will only be able to send emergency alert notifications via text message. These types of notifications are saved for emergency circumstances only (e.g. shelter in place, natural disasters). All non-emergency messages (e.g. snow emergencies, road closures) will be sent via email.

If you have a cell phone that receives text messages or email, please take 5 minutes to subscribe to Nixle to help us keep you informed during an emergency.

To subscribe, visit Nixle.com and select “Resident.” Enter 53158 to preview alerts for the area. Then, click “Sign Up” at the top of the page and follow the directions you see there. Use Pleasant Prairie’s zip code 53158.

In order to receive emergency text messages on your smart phone, you can also text “53158” to 888777 to enroll.
