Willow Grove Subdivision Conceptual Plan Approved for 13 Single-Family Homes
Posted on 02/24/2020
Harpe Development plans to build 13 single-family homes on vacant property, generally located east of County Trunk Highway H (CTH H) and north of 68th Street, in Pleasant Prairie. Following the public hearing, the Plan Commission approved a Conceptual Plan for the project on Monday, February 24. The request for approval was made by Harpe’s agent, Mark Eberle, Professional Engineer with Nielsen Madsen and Barber. The future development will be known as Willow Grove Subdivision.

The land to the north and east of the new development area is located in the City of Kenosha, containing single-family homes. Lands to the west, lying in the Village, are also developed as single-family homes. The Chabad of Kenosha plans to develop the land, within the Village, to the south into a Synagogue. During public hearings for the proposed Synagogue, neighbors in the City expressed opposition to connecting 68th Street to the City because traffic issues on CTH H could shift from 65th Street to 68th Street. The Conceptual Plan for the project extends 68th Street into Willow Grove Subdivision and ends in a cul-de-sac.

Traffic Engineering Services completed a traffic report that evaluated the intersection of CTH H and 68th Street, which indicates that the existing configuration and traffic control is acceptable and does not require any additional improvements. Public utilities and roadways for the subdivision will be constructed by the developer to service all 13 lots. The developer is also responsible for extending public sanitary sewer, water, and storm sewer to the subdivision. The Village has proposed a municipal water extension, for later this year, along CTH H that could be used to service the area.

A public hearing regarding the Preliminary Plat for the Willow Grove Subdivision will be held later this spring.
